Israel and Russia strengthen trade ties.

The head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Andrei Bilyaninov visits Israel this week, as a guest of the Israeli customs administration.

As reported by the Israeli official sources, the visit of the Russian delegation takes place in the background of the Russian authorities to strengthen the cooperation with the trade mission of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Israel in Moscow. It is noted that Israel exports to Russia  increased by 11% to a billion dollars in 2012.

During the visit, the head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia will hold working meetings with his counterpart Doron Arbel, as well as senior officials of the tax administration in Israel. Commenting on the visit of the Russian customs service, Arbel said that “He sees a historic visit to the chance to open up new ways of cooperation between Israel and Russia in the field of promotion and trade facilitation measures, among other things, with the assistance of the most modern electronic means.”

In turn, the Deputy Director General for International Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Ohad Cohen, said that “Russia is one of the most important trading partner of Israel. We are actively promoting the elimination of obstacles to exporters who want to develop business in Russia “, – he added.
