A love afaire with USA?

Yes I know – we are the best, the strongest. We can do it all alone, now and forever. We have the most freedoms among others and we are most creative, etc … . Did I forgot any thing?
I am sure that many patriotic Americans will find many more reasons why we are the best. Patriotism means to love your country and to be proud of it. To some degree its a good thing. But wait, doesn’t make love blind? Aren’t possibly many patriots out there who are so much in love, that they overlook some serious issues with their beloved one.
Being patriotic or in this regard to be with some one in love has ultimately some thing to do with the future. Only if the future seems to be bright are we ready to look forward to it, means to fall in love and happiness.
But love is always connected to a status, which I would call “situational awareness“.
One who has just fallen in love made prior to the fall an analysis of the object of love. Whether he or she is aware of it or not, similar to a doctor examining a patient, the lover looks at the object of his desires and makes a thorough analysis of it’s health, of it’s characteristics, of it’s past, etc., and based on these results the lover makes a prognosis, and only if the prognosis is good, love can take place.
One may conclude – the more thorough the analysis prior to the fall in love was made, the higher the chances that the beloved object can hold up to the bright future it seems to promise.
If I would consider to become a patriot of America, I would also have to make this analysis.
At first I would see a prosperous country which in comparison to others seems to be standing out. It has the biggest economy, the biggest armed forces, the biggest cars, the biggest homes, the most important currency in the world, the most influence in the world, and many other attributes more, which would have attracted my eyes, and possibly this bright shine would have blinded me already, if I would have fallen in love by now.
But if I am a more mature prospective lover, I would like to understand more precisely whether the shining is deriving from real gold, and if yes, why is it that my object of desire is so much more successful than the rest of nations, and is it going to stay this way for the future to come?
