The German writer Ilija Trojanov has been denied a surprise entry into the United States. The writers’ organization PEN is now calling on the federal government to solve the case. Buchzik From Dana

A rogue who here evil thinks the end of September is the writer Ilija Trojanov, together with nearly sixty other authors, marched to the chancellor’s officeand read aloud from an open letter in which the federal government will be asked to Germany before the espionage by foreign intelligence to protect. On Monday, the 30th September, it will be refused without giving reasons, entry into the United States. Instead of a German scholar Congress, to which he is invited to participate, it is firmly seated in Brazil at the airport.

He writes a text for the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” , which states: “It is more than ironic if an author who raises his voice against the dangers of surveillance and the secret state within a state for years, entry to the ‘country of the brave and the free is denied. ‘” Is now once again put the issue of democracy in the United States?

Zeh emphasized on their public Facebook page that Trojanow electronic entry form had already been recognized, it speaks of paranoia. People who stand up for civil rights would be treated as enemies of the state.

Toe published in 2009 together with Trojanov the book “an attack on the freedom – security, surveillance state and the dismantling of civil rights.”

Solidarity – and ridicule

In the Facebook comment bar to find solidarity, but also ridicule. They joked that, due to the budget crisis Trojanow surveillance in the United States would not be affordable and it would therefore access denied.

They stressed that they had always known that Barack Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And again it is said that you will not hear something for the first time.

The fact that a respectable writer is groundless refused entry takes almost unspectacular in comparison to the comment landscape that extends online: The majority seems of innocence, before the toe and Trojanov strongly advise not to want to renounce, seems want to join the CDU strategy that would keep the topic NSA small: Ronald Pofalla had already in August arbitrarily announced the end of the surveillance scandal, and later based on new documents that had already long been available on the Internet.

In an open letter, which also signed Toe, President of the German writers’ organization PEN, Josef Haslinger, and numerous other fellow writers, the German federal government now calling this to “clear up this case immediately.”
