Blind adherence to US policies and the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions have turned fatal for Europe; the axis of Russia-China-BRICS is set to overturn the global economic system and to prevail over the hegemony of the US, according to the chief economist of the German Bremer Landesbank.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The real damage to\u00a0the EU countries caused by\u00a0the launch of\u00a0anti-Russian sanctions is much more comprehensive than\u00a0that estimated by\u00a0the statistics, Folker Hellmeyer, chief economist of\u00a0the German Bremer Landesbank told in\u00a0an interview with\u00a0Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe slump in\u00a0German export volume by\u00a018 percent in\u00a02014 and by\u00a034 percent for\u00a0the first two months of\u00a02015 is just the tip of\u00a0the iceberg,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are much more of\u00a0the side-effects.\u201d\u201cEuropean countries, like\u00a0Finland and Austria, who have strong developing businesses in\u00a0Russia, place fewer orders within\u00a0Germany. Moreover, the European corporations evade sanctions and create high-efficient production facilities in\u00a0Russia. We, therefore, lose this potential capital stock, which is the basis of\u00a0our prosperity, and Russia wins.\u201d<\/p>\n

The relationship of\u00a0trust between\u00a0Russia and Germany and the EU is somewhat broken. And it will take years to\u00a0rebuild it. As the result, such companies as\u00a0Siemens and Alstom have lost major projects in\u00a0Russia, he said. The potential damage not only for\u00a0Germany but\u00a0for the whole of\u00a0the EU, therefore, is much more comprehensive than\u00a0what is being shown by\u00a0current figures.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Moscow, Beijing and other BRICS countries are looking forward to\u00a0building the largest projects of\u00a0the modern history: the construction of\u00a0new Eurasian infrastructure from\u00a0Moscow to\u00a0Vladivostok, in\u00a0South China and India.<\/p>\n

Participation of\u00a0the Western countries in\u00a0these mega-projects looks quite uncertain, Hellmeyer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, the conflict has already been set,\u201d he said. \u201cThe axis Moscow-Beijing-BRIC has won. The West had enough. In 1990 th, these countries accounted for\u00a0about 25% of\u00a0world economic output. Now, they represent 56% of\u00a0world economic output, and account for\u00a085% of\u00a0world population. They control about\u00a070% of\u00a0the world’s foreign exchange reserves. They grow annually by\u00a0an average of\u00a04%\u00a0\u2014 5%. Since the United States has not been prepared to\u00a0share the power worldwide, nor to\u00a0build the emerging market sector on\u00a0its own financial system, it lost.\u201dNeither problem in\u00a0the world nowadays can be solved without\u00a0Moscow or Beijing, said the economist.<\/p>\n

The lack of\u00a0its own agenda makes the EU and Germany look like\u00a0a loser.<\/p>\n
