Kabson in Interview about Ukraine:<\/p>\n
Sergey<\/span> Grachev<\/span>,<\/span> “AIF”:<\/span> Iosif Davidovich Kabson<\/span>, for many years<\/span> we<\/span> were equal<\/span> to Europe<\/span>, and now we have<\/span> virtually declared<\/span> that<\/span> European values<\/span> \u200b\u200bare alien to us<\/span>. Doesn’t it throws<\/span> us<\/span> from side to side too sharply<\/span>?
Joseph Kobzon:<\/span> Neither<\/span> European<\/span> nor<\/span> American values<\/span> \u200b\u200bare alien to<\/span> us<\/span> –<\/span> on the condition that<\/span> they<\/span> serve the interests of<\/span> the people.<\/span> T<\/span>he western community<\/span> has many values which are proper for us as well.<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n
It would be stupid<\/span> to say that<\/span> we should<\/span> do every think different.<\/span><\/h2>\n
Still, in the past we<\/span> have also abandoned<\/span> many<\/span> good things we enjoyed\u00a0<\/span>in the Soviet Union<\/span>. <\/span><\/h2>\n
Free<\/span> health care and education<\/span>, mandatory employment<\/span> after<\/span> graduation<\/span>, the program<\/span> for the development of<\/span> physical culture and sports,\u00a0<\/span>pioneers who<\/span> organized and<\/span> raised the children<\/span>. <\/span><\/h2>\n
Well I do not<\/span> want<\/span> pioneers<\/span> any more – call them\u00a0<\/span>Gagariners<\/span>, Eaglets, or so<\/span>. It’s not<\/span> about the name<\/span>, but about the fact. <\/span><\/h2>\n
Previously,<\/span> children<\/span> dreamed of becoming<\/span> Chkalov,<\/span> Kosmodemyanskaya<\/span> or Gagarin.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
And now<\/span> they want to be<\/span> oligarchs<\/span>, businessmen and bureaucrats<\/span>. This<\/span> indicates a change<\/span> in moral character<\/span>, and not necessarily<\/span> for the better.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
We<\/span> have demolished<\/span> monuments and<\/span> replaced<\/span> street and city names<\/span>. But what did we create instead?
–<\/span> And to whom<\/span> all these<\/span> claims?<\/span>
–<\/span> To you<\/span>, to me.<\/span> To<\/span> people who<\/span> madly<\/span> and thoughtlessly<\/span> allowed<\/span> Gorbachev<\/span> to destroy<\/span> a great power.<\/span> We<\/span> voted<\/span> in a referendum for<\/span> the preservation of<\/span> the renewed<\/span> Soviet Union, but<\/span> to insist on it we were not able to<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
With the<\/span> acquiescence of<\/span> Gorbachev<\/span> the<\/span> Union was destroyed\u00a0<\/span>, which was a huge<\/span> gift to<\/span> America and Europe.<\/span> Baltic states left us –<\/span> and do they live better now<\/span>? <\/span><\/h2>\n
No,<\/span> worse<\/span>, despite the fact that<\/span> they are\u00a0<\/span>part of<\/span> the European Union.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
I<\/span> do not understand why<\/span> Ukraine is so enthusiastic about Europe<\/span>!<\/span><\/h2>\n
They think someone needs them there<\/span>? No, it<\/span> is probably not true. They will<\/span> trample<\/span> on it<\/span> will wipe<\/span> their <\/span>feet and<\/span> make<\/span> it to an appendix.<\/span>
–<\/span> You<\/span> spoke about<\/span> Ukraine<\/span>, where you were born<\/span> and<\/span> grew up<\/span>. Do you have<\/span> any<\/span> idea<\/span> what will happen<\/span> next?<\/span>

You can<\/span> imagine how I<\/span> feel when I<\/span> listen to the news<\/span> of these cities<\/span>? They have elected the barely legitimate president\u00a0<\/span>Poroshenko<\/span>. And what is<\/span> he doing?<\/span> Dismemberes<\/span> and destroys<\/span> the country.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
Ukraine<\/span> should be united<\/span>!
–<\/span> But in the West<\/span> claim that<\/span> Russia started<\/span> the collapse<\/span>, regaining the<\/span> Crimea<\/span>.
–<\/span> Are they not ashamed<\/span> to say<\/span> this<\/span>? Crimea<\/span> has always been<\/span> Russian<\/span>, and the fact that<\/span> it<\/span> was able to return<\/span> without firing a shot<\/span>, without a single<\/span> victim<\/span> –<\/span> this is another proof.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
It is<\/span> the unanimous<\/span> decision of the people<\/span>. People<\/span> still continue<\/span> to rejoice<\/span> over the return<\/span> home.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
And<\/span> as<\/span> revenge<\/span> to Crimea<\/span> Kiev<\/span> has cut the\u00a0<\/span>power supply?<\/span> Deprived it of<\/span> water.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
Even enemies<\/span> never<\/span> denied<\/span> water and<\/span> the Kiev authorities<\/span> refused it.<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n
Recently<\/span> talked to one person from <\/span>Sochi.<\/span> He says: “<\/span>What luck that I’m here!<\/span> There offered for\u00a0<\/span>my head<\/span> 10 thousand dollars<\/span>
