Yuri Baluyevsky said at today\u2019s expert panel in Moscow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p id=\"p_10\">He warned that NATO and US strategies involved preventive attacks, including nuclear strikes at Russia and China, especially since China has been recently getting out of hand.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_20\">Gen. Baluyevsky stressed that the NATO missile shield was to protect the United States against possible retaliatory strikes.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_30\">\u201cThey expect that their opponents will respond with up to 100 missiles, not with 1,500 or 2,000, they are dreaming of being able to intercept the whole bulk of a hundred missiles and make themselves invulnerable after their first strike,\u201d he added. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_40\">Washington pours around ten billion dollars a year into building up its global anti-missile defenses. \u201cSome $9-11 billion a year is spent on developing the anti-missile shield,\u201d Yuri Baluyevsky noted.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_50\"><a href=\"http:\/\/english.ruvr.ru\/2013_04_02\/US-may-launch-pre-emptive-strike-at-Russia-Russia-s-ex-chief-of-staff-512\/\" target=\"_blank\">Voice of Russia, Interfax<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a9 Flickr.com\/Pierre J.\/cc-by-nc-sa 3.0 The United States still hasn\u2019t let go of the pre-emptive nuclear strike doctrine against Russia and China, Russia\u2019s former Chief of Staff Gen.
