 A colossal monument, The Motherland Calls, was erected on Mamayev Kurgan. It has the size of three statues of liberty and is a symbol of the unprecedented effort in human history in which the Red Army defeated Nazi Germany. Eighty percent of the total armed assault in WWII was absorbed by the Red Army. Hundreds of millions are enjoying their freedoms today thanks to the sacrifice of the nations of former Soviet Union. The world will never forget their heroism.
