Russia calls for the formation of the legitimate Ukrainian government of  national unity in the interests of all political forces and regions of the country and claims the West is now allying with unconcealed neo-nazis, who smash both Orthodox churches and synagogues, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said Monday.

“Russia is interested in a stable and strong Ukraine, which secures the legal rights and interests of the Ukrainians, our fellow citizens and the rest of the population. Under this extraordinary circumstance, that was not caused by our actions, when life and safety of the residents of the Crimea and south-eastern regions face a real threat because of irresponsible and provocative actions of the Bandera militants and other ultra-nationalist activists, the measures we are undertaking are appropriate and absolutely legal. We advocate for the prompt return of the situation in Ukraine to normal on the basis of the agreement of February 21, including the formation of a legitimate government of national unity in the interests of all political forces and regions of the country,” the statement says.

The Ministry’s statement also claimed that the West is now allying with unconcealed neo-nazis, who smash both Orthodox churches and synagogues.

“It is hushed up that it were the US and its allies who turned a blind eye to the atrocities the Maidan militants were commiting, their bullying of political opponents and ordinary citizens, their anti-Semitism and aggressive russophobia, their desecration of the memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War,” the statement reads. “The West is now allying with unconcealed neo-nazis, who sack both Orthodox churches and synagogues,” the Ministry adds.
